Hi there, fellow bikers, Greetings from a little country town in Northern Natal, called Vryheid (“Freedom” in English). You may, or may not have read my submissions “Life’s Lessons From a Motorbike.” Our VOG Administrator has graciously asked me as a practising Pastor and fellow biker to write a short monthly or bimonthly inspirational article for upliftment, encouragement and sometimes a spiritual challenge perhaps. I do this firstly as it is my ministry to share the "Good News" of the gospel and secondly to reach out to you as a fellow biker. My first “bike” a second-hand Vespa Scooter while in standard nine, in 1969, and it needed more continuous mechanical attention than the miles on the “clocks” – but it was fun and lit a fire in my heart for biking I know us bikers are suppose to be tough (My wife never shows me any sympathy when I get home after a rally on a Sunday afternoon, bone tired, bum-numb, wet and cold, and all I get from her is: “Ha! I thought you’re suppose to be a tough biker!?” or “Don’t try and get some sympathy from me. Go and sit with your bike, maybe she’ll feel sorry for you!”) but inside we all need a bit of sympathy and love. And so I trust that these articles will get under your leather jacket and speak into your heart for encouragement and, as I said, maybe sometimes a challenge.
